Don't worry. This is not a story about something else Olivia put up her nose.
Olivia likes to talk. She really likes to talk. Car rides are never quiet (even when you wish they would be for just 5 minutes). She'll be 3 on Saturday and she amazes me with how smart she is. Yesterday, on the way to gymnastics, she was her normal chatty self. We talked about where we were going, and what animals we saw along the way (we pass several farms to get to the Y), what fictitious animal was chasing us (usually an animal from a Dora episode she saw recently), and so many other things. When we got into Lebanon, a traffic light was not working properly.....I had the blinking red and knew it was going to be a pain to get across the 5 way intersection. I said, "Uh oh, the light is broken". She told me that maybe it needed new batteries.....maybe we could fix it.
Because the intersection was a pain in the neck to get through, I was hoping it would be fixed on the way home from gymnastics. No luck. Olivia said we needed to go home and get a really tall ladder to change the batteries. She said maybe her Daddy could help her. It is so much fun to listen to her and hear the things she comes up with. Why didn't we think of that....get new batteries to fix the traffic light?? Seeing life through the eyes of an almost 3 year old makes a crappy day at work so much better.
