HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADDISON!!!!!

Well today is the big day! Addie turned one!! I can't believe it has been a year already. She has grown so quickly that I almost can't remember what it felt like to hold her as a little 7 lb 7 oz newborn in my arms 1 year ago today.

Yesterday I didn't really have anywhere to go in the evening but I wanted to take her for one last ride in the car seat facing the rear. Of course I took a picture......

Today, we planned to take Addie and Liv to Hershey Park and Zoo America but it rained all day. This morning we did take cupcakes into the daycare. The girls haven't started back yet but they will soon and I thought it would be nice to stop in with the girls (since they haven't seen them in months) and share some cupcakes to share her birthday celebration. Goofy? Maybe. But I wanted to do it anyway. She got to take her first ride facing forward in her car seat. And yes, I did take a picture.

Since we couldn't go to the park, we spent the day at home playing and having fun. I didn't make a cake for today since it's just the 4 of us and we'll have a cake for her birthday party next weekend. But, I did keep some of the cupcakes and we lit a candle and sang "Happy Birthday" to her. She looked at us with a strange look when we sang to her holding a flaming cupcake in front of her but she clapped when we were done (probably because the singing was bad and was over). Daddy helped her blow out the candle (by accident) and she enjoyed the cupcake. Here's the proof......

Surprisingly her face was pretty clean. I can't say the same about her hands, arms, bib, clothes, high chair, and the floor!

I know that Addie doesn't understand that today is a special day for her. She doesn't understand the gifts, or the cup cakes, or that I was home on a day in the middle of the week to spend the day with her. That aside, I still think she had a great birthday. Olivia had a nice day too. There were several times we had to remind her that the singing Pablo (from the Backyardigans) and the new books are Addie's and not hers and she needed to let Addie play or look at them too but she enjoyed having new toys and books to play with and read too. I think she wished Addie a "Happy Birthday" about 100 times today.

Tomorrow is Addison's 1 year old well-baby visit. She's not going to enjoy the shots but I can't want to see how much she has grown!
